General English courses are offered at the Lake School on a flexible timetable. Courses may be mixed and matched. Please contact the school if you require assistance selecting your course and are unsure about your skill level.

Semi-Intensive General English

Course Includes15 hours’ tuition + weekly cultural/social or sporting activities. (There are no lessons on Saturdays, Sundays or School holidays.)
Course StartAny Monday. (Except School Holidays: January 1 – 7, March 30 – April 2, May 7, May 28, December 15 – January 6, 2019.)You can’t take a Semi-Intensive course in July or August. Beginners (CEFR Level A1) must start on January 8, April 9 or September 24, 2018.
Course LengthYou choose how many weeks you study.The minimum enrolment is 2 weeks. 
Course FeesIf you study for:2 weeks or more, the fees per week are £225
24 weeks or more, the fees per week are £190 

Intensive General English

Course Includes21 hours’ tuition + weekly cultural/social or sporting activities. (There are no lessons on Saturdays, Sundays or School holidays.)
Course StartAny Monday. (Except School Holidays: January 1 – 7, March 30 – April 2, May 7, May 28, August 27, December 15 – January 6, 2019.)Beginners (CEFR Level A1) must start on January 8, April 9, July 2, July 30 or September 24, 2018.Summer courses start July 2, July 16, July 30 or August 13. If you want to start on other dates, this may be possible. Please contact the school.
Course LengthYou choose how many weeks you study. The minimum enrolment is 2 weeks.
Course FeesIf you study for:2 weeks or more, the fees per week are £295
5 weeks or more, the fees per week are £280 
10 weeks or more, the fees per week are £270
13 weeks or more, the fees per week are £260 
24 weeks or more, the fees per week are £250
35 weeks or more, the fees per week are £240.

Individual Tuition

Course IncludesYou choose the number of hours you want to study. Weekly cultural/social or sporting activities.
Course StartYou can start a course of Individual Tuition on any day in the year, subject to tutor availability, and not during July or August or school holidays:The Lake School is closed on the following dates in 2018: January 1 – 7*, March 30* – April 2*, May 7*, May 28*, August 27*, December 15 – January 6, 2019 *Public holiday.
Course LengthMinimum 2 hours
Course FeesFrom £60 per hour

Payment – Important Information

1. When you enroll for a course, you must first pay a £200 deposit and an enrollment fee of £75.

2. Before you begin the course, you must pay the outstanding amount of fees.

3.  There are no additional costs if you pay by credit card.

4. If you pay by bank transfer, you must add £25 to cover the costs of currency conversion.

Before submitting the Enrolment Form, you must read and accept the entire Terms and Conditions of the Lake School of English.

  • Fill in the online enrolment form or the pdf enrolment form and select a payment option. You may get further information on how to pay here.
  • Fill in the online Enrolment Form or send us the pdf Enrolment Form by email.

We’ll notify you that we’ve received your Enrolment Form and sent you an invoice with the amount you owe. The enrolment fee for each student is £75.

The following holidays will be observed at the Lake School: January 1 – 7, March 30, April 2, May 7, May 28, August 27, and December 15 through January 6. *Public holiday is a holiday. There are no refunds for classes that would have taken place on public holidays.
