Homestay Accommodation

In this case, your accommodation is booked from the Sunday before your course begins until the Saturday after it concludes. This means that you will check in to your host family’s home on Sunday and leave on Saturday.

If you come to Oxford or depart on different days, you are responsible for arranging your own additional nights’ accommodation. It is possible that you may be able to extend your stay in your homestay for one more night. There is an extra charge for this service. Please contact the school to verify if it’s available.

The majority of hotels and B&Bs in the city are situated on or near the riverfront. Oxford does not have an official hostel, so visitors must stay in a hotel if they want to visit overnight. Hostels are not permitted between 23:00 and 7:00 AM. If you arrive late into Oxford, please make alternative arrangements.

If you want to pay for your lodging yourself, be sure to pay on arrival and then commit to paying every two weeks in advance. If you need to depart before the end of your stay, let your homestay and the Lake School know at least one week in advance.

Occasionally, owing to circumstances beyond our control, we may be required to alter your accommodation before you arrive or while you are staying. We guarantee that during the time you have booked, we will accommodate you at a different host’s home for the duration of your stay.

If you decide to go on vacation during your program, we may charge a room retainer fee or request that you switch to different housing when you return. Please enquire about the school’s specifics before making your holiday plans.

Hotel or Self-Catering Accommodation

In some instances, students would rather stay in a hotel or self-catering accommodation. The Lake School isn’t able to do so, but we can provide you with suggestions and advise you on where to stay if you want to arrange your own hotel or self-catering accommodation in Oxford.

Although it may seem like a trick, the accommodation is only recommended for 18-year-olds and up.
